Difference between GATE and IIT JAM?

    Main Reason behind organising the exams GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) and IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.) is for providing admissions for post graduations in various programmes.

    With MHRD Admission to post graduate programmes and some other government scholarship/ assistant ship at engineering colleges/ institutes in the country are open to those who qualify through GATE Exam.
    GATE Examination is conducted jointly by IIs and IITs in Eight Different Jones.

    IIT JAM Exam is conducted Jointly by IIs and IITs all across the India on behalf of Ministry of Human Resources Development Goverment of Indi.
    IIT JAM Examination is conducted for giving opportunities for the candidates who are interested in their post graduation for M.Sc., Joint M.Sc. - Ph. D, Dual Degree and for other programs.

    According to latest notification Application process for IIT JAM 2018 is going to start from 5 September 2017, Interested candidates can apply through online process.
