It is mandatory that students must have appeared and passed in five subjects to be eligible to appear for JEE Main 2014 (Language, Physics, Mathematics, Any one of these (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject and any other subject). Candidates who have appeared in four subjects only are not eligible.
Diploma Holders from any state are NOT eligible to attempt the JEE Main 2014.
    Diploma Holders from Maharashtra
are not eligible for JEE Main 2014 and will have to check the lateral entry that will be announced by the Directorate.
Diploma Holders from Odisha will have to appear for the OJEE 2014 for lateral entry admissions to the second year of the engineering degree courses in the state.
Diploma Holders from Nagaland are also not eligible for JEE Main 2014.

For students of Maharashtra, Odisha and Nagaland, the eligibility criteria will be as per their past practice only that were enforced for the state entrance examinations is he earlier years.
